Saying goodbye to an inspirational advocate for patient choice.
Just weeks before he died, Peter, who was born in London, was interviewed by the Sun newspaper. He welcomed the progress of the campaign for assisted dying in the UK, saying: “I’m glad it is being considered as an option in the UK. The Death with Dignity Act is extremely compassionate and makes a lot of sense.”
Peter will be remembered as an excellent doctor and an inspirational advocate for patient choice – compassionate, respectful and clear, as this fascinating interview with Time Magazine shows.
Peter will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with his family and our mutual friends at Compassion and Choices in Oregon.
